  • Sports bottle irrigation?

    Hi all,

Was just throwing some evian bottles away in the recycling and wondered whether they could be used as little irrigation systems? The sports cap doesn't drip unless there is some suction. i wondered if it could be sunk in the soil and used for tomato plants? Duno if it would work but hate throwing things!

Supposed they could be used as little cloches and the cap could be opened on a warm day!

If you put them in the soil the cap pushes in doesn't it? So doesn't drip?

Anyway, why aren't you drinking tap water?

You can use them, but you need to take the top off!

Those big Evian bottles are the only ones to properly fit on my bike - I buy 2 each spring and just refill them with tap water to keep in fridge. I can't taste the difference tbh

Water is different wherever you go. Here, where I grew up, it is disgusting - I never drank water as a kid/teen, because of that. Essex is known as a 'hard water' area, however a mere two miles away, the water is very different - drinkable even!

The best water I've tasted is at the Stables; it comes from a local bore-hole, so has not been 'bastardised' by Anglian Water! Failing that, the only bottled water I'll drink is San Pelegrino, from Italy. I try not to think about the miles...
