Are anyone else's tomatoes looking thin and spindly this year? Mine have flowers, some have toms, are being fed etc, but don't look good? Wondering if it might have been type of compost I used. They are in buckets outside, as they were last year.

You could try to alternate your feeding, high nitrogen for green growth, good watering, high potash for fruit growth and so on. Its a regime I have been using for a number of years now with reasonable success.Potty by name Potty by nature.

I have to say i am having mixed results this year. I have toms indoors and outdoors but the weather is a definite factor in their development this time round.

^^^^^^^^^^Like you I grow in buckets and find the plants need that little bit extra when grown in containers. There is also the issue of rinsing the nutrients out of the pot when you water.
I use Miracle Grow for high nitrogen, followed by water when needed. Next time they get Tomorite (your red bottle no doubt) for high potash, followed again by water when needed. Then back to Miracle Grow.
I do the same with my Tumblers in hanging baskets.Potty by name Potty by nature.
