  • Spinach and snow

With a possible snow forecast over the Easter weekend i am worried about some of my seedlings.
How do Spinach fare with a cold spell and snow? is it worth trying to get them covered or will they take the brunt of it and come out the other side in one piece?

How big are they? Spinach is hardy and prefers it cool.

Not that big to be fair. Been out of the ground for about a week now.

they'll be fine. may look a little rattled for a few days afterwards though.
chucking some straw or fleece over them would keep them toasty

          I overwinter spinach - they'll be fine.

If they're really small, I think I'd be throwing a bit of fleece over them or some kind of cloche. Mine luckily are still in the stayput until they're strong enough to withstand this changing weather.
