  • Spinach - is it cut and come again?

Have been having a very productive day in the yard and noticed that my spinach is still going strong, although it's obviously got mature foliage, now, so I imagine would be quite bitter!

Is it worth cutting it back lettuce style to let it grow up again (in the conservatory or greenhouse), or bin it with the rest of the waste? I doubt I'll bother growing it from scratch, this year, but if I can save this one, I'll eat it!

Only one way to find out! Make sure you don't cut the growing point out though.

I've been cutting off the leaves now for ages and they aren't at all bitter. I'm making the most of it until the frost/snow (if we have any!) kill it off. Give it a go, better than it going to waste!

OK, maybe I'll have a nibble tomorrow. I can always use the leaves to make Saag Aloo or something! Good reminder about the growing point, thanks!
