  • Sowing carrots now???

Hi all. Been reading some of the posts here about carrots. Am I right in saying that I could sow some carrot seeds now??? If so which variety would be best, I think I read ESKIMO is ok??? Would I need to use fleece protection when the weather turns cold??

Its a bit late for Eskimo, but you can so Nantes Frubund Fast Crop now (or even in October) for carrots in spring. Fleece is helpful for carrots anyway as it avoids carrot fly and will help to keep off the worst of the cold.

      Carrots are a warm-weather crop.

I'm sure I heard that Chantenay carrots can be grown for winter use? They're pretty small so they're ready earlier than the rest.
