  • Something is eating my bell peppers!

    Hi,

Does anyone have any ideas what might be eating my bell pepper plants?

They are all kept in my greenhouse and have been growing really well in the past month.

However, in the past week something has been nibbling away at the leaves on several plants leaving quite large holes (sometimes in the middle of the leaf, sometimes on the edge).

It seems to be getting worse and I'm worried I might start to lose some of them if it continues.

It almost looks like caterpillar or slug type damage, but I've have a good hunt around and can't find anything on the plants or the pots (or under the pots) that could be doing it.

Any suggestions on what to look out for or ways to prevent it happening 'blind' would be really appreciated.

Here are some pictures of the damage... it's definitely spreading, including to plants on shelving on the other side of the greenhouse... could this be some sort of flying insect that's coming in at night?? hoping someone can advise!

Slugs or snails. Initially I'd look under all the pots and eject anything you find.

My bet is snails, they are sneaky little buggers. They climb and hide in the most unusual places. There seem to be lots of baby ones about at the moment too.

        Blue pellets needed I think.

Dont like using them but I would here. Even one of two in the pot should catch the bugger.
