I've just gone onto a site to work out how much soil I need to buy to fill the beds that I've dug out.
just going on an 11ft x 3ft (rough estimates) bed, which is say 1ft deep (I have compost that I'm going to mix in with it to fill it up higher) I need 2 tonnes?
That seems an awful lot to me. I know soil is heavy, but 2 tonnes of soil for one bed? I need to fill 3 beds at the mo, with perhaps a further 3 coming on shortly...
I'm sure when I built a trough which was probably 8'x3'x2' I used 1 and a half 35L bags of compost?
