  • Snow in London this weekend

If you're like me, and usually go about life with a general ignorance to the weather forecast, you may not have noticed they're calling for -2C and snow this weekend in London. One of my students was talking about it today, and I didn't believe it until I checked the BBC myself!

Just thought I'd give a warning for those who haven't already heard because if you're like me, you haven't bought any fleece yet!

yeah but my garden isn't, the amount we have had has played havoc with ground that is usually on the dry side, and sits on a compacted clay base over 2 foot deep!!!

i know this because i actually dug some up a few years back and made pots with it, good pots, bad for garden though

I have my thermals on standby for tomorrow down here in the sarf!! Its ok when working on the lottie but watching the local rugby may well be a bit cold!! To top it all my daughter is staying this weekend and her 4 year old will want to go to 'nannies beach' across the road from my flat whatever the weather!

We had hailstones here today. It's now dropped from 12C to 4C in a few hours, so I expect more to come.

wasn't too bad this morning here, then had to walk miles to Comet to arrange new cooker, 1 hour in, was fine, quite warm, came out and the temp had dropped nastily, was freezing on the way home, and now huddled in fleecy blankie.

sidebar says its 8 deg its soooo lying!

I have just planted my autumn planting aspargus a few weeks ago.
Will I need to cover it to protect from frost. It doesn't appear to have come up yet, so will it be ok?
Don't think we are due any snow this weekend, but it has started me thinking about winter in general on the allotment.
                              Cheers in advance
