  • Small trellis

Can anyone suggest any veg to grow up a section of wall with a trellis that is about 2m high, I need something that can be trained sideways as the wall is wide but not tall.

    Thanks

Grower, Important to know which way this wall/trellis faces (i..e. how much sun it gets). Given reasonable sunlight as far as veg concerned sounds perfect for a permanent runner bean trench but have you considered espalier fruit? Sounds made for it, not difficult to train and a permanent solution to the problem. Choose fruit depending on aspect (even north-facing workable). b.

The Wall faces south and gets alot of sun, was thinking of growing cucumbers, anyone know if this would work, if side shoots will develop fruits or not?

Useful to add your approx location, Grower, because latitude can make quite a difference. But a wall/trellis facing south (assuming you're in the Northern hemisphere ) sounds pretty ideal for growing many things (including cucumbers if that's your choice). b
