  • Should I have fleeced my PSB

Just realised-a bit late in the day-that with all this cold weather that my PSB is at risk. It is not yet producing the heads but has been doing well. Does the frost damage the plants.

Mine has got through deep snow on them 2 years running so I think you'd be OK. I'm further south than you but we had some pretty extreme cold last year. Someone further North may be able to confirm.

I've not fleeced mine and I'm Midlands. But it's the first year I'm taking PSB through wintertime on my allotment.

Should be fine. It's hardy - the only thing it needs fleecing or netting against is butterflies (caterpillars)

Mine were out in all the snow with no protection apart from anti-pigeon netting etc last winter with no damage .......they're out this year as well and have started to sprout already .

The only problems I've had is when the weight of snow has broken off the leaves. The cold is not a problem for them.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
