  • Should I be doing anything else with my tomatoes?

As its my first yer with a GH I'm really hoping to do well with tomatoes. I'm getting confusing info (from my mother) about which bits I should be plucking off the plants. I know that I need to pinch out the little stems that grow between the mainstream and the limbs. Is there anything else that I should be doing with these plants at this stage? I forgot the name of the variety but they're not the cherry type. Thanks for any advice.

When the fruit starts to set, e.g. you can see little tomatoes you need to start feeding with a tomato feed, at least weekly but read the packet. Make sure you tie the stems into a good support as the fruit will be heavy once it gets going.

        Which varieties are you growing?

You only need to pinch out the sideshoots of cordon tomatoes. Ones which you grow straight up in the greenhouse (which it looks like you are doing).
However, bush tomatoes, or tumbling toms don't need 'pinching out' as thats where most of the fruit will come from.

Otherwise, as suggested, try to feed regularly. I find it really difficult to remember the regular part, so I try to stick to a particular day (say, Sundays) to try to keep some sort of routine.
