  • Shallots Ready?

I've grown shallots from seed for the first time this year and I'm wondering if they're ready to be harvested yet?

I pulled a couple yesterday due, in some part, to curiosity and mainly because I'm impatient!

    Little 6cm pot for scale.

They look OK now but the tops are still good and green so they could be left a bit longer and with luck will get a bit bigger.

Great achievement growing them from seed, well done. I'd definitely leave them a bit longer though. They look healthy and capable of thickening up some more.

        Brilliant - thanks both!

Will leave them for a bit and hope they get bigger! : )

Excellent, so just like the garlic. : )

The photo does make it look a bit healthier than it looks in the flesh but I'll hold off!
