Shallots now?

I picked up 2 bags of shallot sets today half price as they are obviously beyond their plant out dates. However, as everything seems to be late anyway this year, I figured they might be worth a shot.

Do you think I should just stick them straight out, or would it be worth me starting them off in modules in the greenhouse in the hope of getting them moving a bit quicker?

I put a few straight in the ground a couple of weeks ago to fill up the empty spaces in the over winter onions,they have sprouted about an inch already
