This was a welcome surprise ... self-seed broad bean and lettuces (sown approx Sept 08)
The broadie is knee height and dwarfing the November sowings (on the left of the photo)
It has survived snow & gales, and is just starting to form flowers. I'm going to resist cosseting it, as it's got this far on its own.
