    Flower and Vegetable Seed Viability

i tried sprouting seed on damp kitchen towel of cabbage, cauli, radish, spring onion, flowers, beetroot, lettuce from seed that had been stored in a warm room in the house and was 16 years old.

none of them germinated apart from a few radishes and virutally 100% of the lettuce.

Thats a nice simple list, altho I did watch part of the big dig program and it said that carrot seeds were only good for one year.

          3-yr:
          bean
          carrot
          pea

Lol! The peas I sent to Flum were four years out of date and germinated fine. Lots of our beans are 'out of date'...
