  • Seed Head Identification Please

I feel like I should know what this is, it looks familiar but for the life of me I can't remember. I don't want to bin in if it's something I can grow again from seed.

Looks like Nicandra Physalodes (Shoofly plant) or one of the Physalis family....

Chinese lanterns, a perennial and invasive. Non edible but there is a variety that is and is grown in the greenhouse and the lanterns don't turn red.

If you want seeds from the ones you have they are in the berry inside the lantern.

        Thanks!

VC, that will be what it is. Someone gave me some seed a while back and I grew one plant last year. I was told it would deter aphids and planned on putting it next to the aubergines and peppers.

Have you grown it? Does it work?
