  • seed collecting and storage

    Hi all

Can someone give me some guidance on seed collection and storage I have let the last of my runnerbeans go to seed and now they are big fat green beans when should I take them of the plant do I need to let them go brown?

I need to know soon as I have to organise my plot and get rid of the weeds lol x

    any thoughts gratefully received.

    thanxs

yes, they need to go brown and sound like maracas in the pod. Cut the plant off and hang it upside down somewhere warm and dry

Does that mean the ones I have been taking out of pods that weren't eaten and are now mainly brown (that is, the pods), won't dry properly ? If so, I will eat them immediately...it's that time of year, where I need to be a bit more full of beans !
