saving carrot seed

I believe it is miles.

GO grow it indoors, and even keep the carrots themselves completely away from other insects, by fleecing them inside the polytunnels. They put bought insects inside the fleece to pollenate the flowers to isolate them properly.

Then, it is only the first of the flowers that carries the most prolific seeds. They are a right bu66er when they are dried and when you crush them up the dust is horrid.

If you could make a double skin fleece cage and purchase insects to put inside to pollenate then you might stand a chance of them coming true. Or, just let them flower and see what happens.

Having nearly died when trying to get the seeds out of the dried flowers, I honestly thing it is easier to let someone else do the hard work. I assume that the providers of carrot seed have isolated polytunnels and just grow one type in each with isolates insects.

Too much faff....but I'd never say never - if I had the space and the patience, then perhaps I would.
