    I left some runners to dry on the plant mainly becasue I'd missed them and they'd gone past the nice to eat whole stage. My plan was to either save them for seed or dry them for casseroles. Some of them have sort of split out of their beautiful purple casing - any ideas on what's caused this and whether they need to just go in the bin? Its as if the bean has got too big for its jacket!

    Some of mine have been so damp that they've started to sprout inside the pods. That may be what's started to happen with yours

      Thanks - I'll leave to dry fully and see if they dry properly - I won't use them as seed.
