  • Salad Roll?

Saw this on ebay (yes I know, too much time on my hands)

Fresh Salad All in 1 Grow Mat, Seed & Polytunnel NEW'09 on eBay, also Vegetables Fruits, Plants Seeds Bulbs, Garden Plants, Home Garden (end time 11-Apr-09 13:38:19 BST)

    Anyone tried it yet? Thoughts?

There was a thread on here no so long ago about these. it was advertised as the lazy gardener or something.

I think we all thought it was a great idea but the price put us all off in the end.

Far too expensive ChrisG. I'll be sticking with traditional methods.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

I've just put in another thread....I'm on my 4th year with a packet of C&CA salads and spinach, as I sow a pinch regularly. For the same price [the BIN price], you could probably buy enough salad for a good 10 years worth, and that includes some winter salads as well.

Yes you are right Victoria, I have also seen them in garden centers. Just a pity about the price. Wilkinsons had a good buy on mixed salads the other day, there was a choice of French or Italian mix and the seed was ready mixed with vermiculite. I would say that each packet would do three of the standard sized seed trays and they were only 99p per pkt.
