  • Runner Beans

I tried planting runner beans in a different spot this year and sadly it does not seem to have met with much success. Trouble is you can never tell if it is the location or the fact that the weather has been so disgusting. I don't suppose there are any varieties of runner bean seed that can be planted now is there?
I can't believe we are going to have a summer without any wonderful home grown runners

The week before last on Gardeners world Monty planted French beans so I don't suppose its too late and anyway if you've got the beans you've nothing to lose.
    Location....East Midlands.

I'd give it a go. With a little luck you'll get some even if they are a little late.

I have late sown beens in years like this and had fresh picked beans for xmas one year when there was no frost, so as the others say, if you have the seed have a go.
