  • Rotted onions

Well as all gardeners know it's essential that we have a good mix of dry and wet weather. Unfortunately The wet weather in my neck of the woods has destroyed most of my onion sets.

Anyone else had disasters due to the over watering by mother nature?

I think I will move to raised gardening for added drainage.

Sorry to hear that, it is wet over here as well. We got heavy clay soil at our allotment. Last year onion did not do well because summer was so wet. This year I grow them in a big box with added sand. They are ok so far.

It is a shame as this is my first year for onions but I suppose the lesson is learnt now.

What an amazing island we live on. My onions are dying from lack of water (we've not had rain since March, and that was pathetic)
