Anyone got one or used be?
    Are they any good?

I have to say they work very well but watch you don't overdo things when using it. Even although I'm doing physical work every day I managed to give myself a serious repetitive stress injury.

      Hello There!

I bought one and found that unless the soil was pretty much stone/rubbish free then it jammed every few turns and eventually the handle snapped off...

That said, the soil was very stony and I had A LOT to get through - in the end I just built myself a 2ft square frame with doubled up chicken wire over it as a hand held riddle...That worked like a dream!

Thanks for the info - we did about three wheelbarrow fulls of sieving with a normal riddle but have a HUGE mountain of stuff to do so really need something to do it.

OH is going to look at building one (there's a video of one powered by a jigsaw)

I along with a few other grapes bought this one last year, I think it's great. Then again it was on @ £20 not £39.99. I think there was some deal on if memory serves me right.

Saw this Soil Conditioning Sieve at the Edible Garden show....

We will buy one when we finally get to move house. The OH created the beds here with a home made sieve propped on two treasels (sp?) and used his hands to push the soil through, the floor standing sieve will save loads of effort!

Well we're got some chicken wire and some wood so OH is going to make a square riddle and see where he goes from there.
Have got drawer runners too I think ...

All we need is some nice warm weather so he can out and play nice!

We've got one like that too and it is FAR easier than riddling by hand. I use it to put the worst of the compost bin through every year and OH once did an entire bed through it too.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I think they are perfect for riddling MPC for seeds & maybe carrots. I don't bother for anything else.
