  • Romanesco question

I have managed to grow several amazing romanesco cauliflowers this year and the plants are ridiculously massive, some a meter square!!! i am sure the chickens are awaiting the leaves eagerly but just in case..........Do they send off side shoots like broccoli does when you harvest the main head. I do not need their space for a few months yet, so don't know whether to leave them.

Thanks for any advice and info in advance
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

Wow! Not jealous I've never been able to get a decent sized head off one of these. However I have managed to get a reasonable amount to eat because all the ones I've grown have produced multiple side shoots, so I'd say if you don't need the space give them time and see if you get the same.
