Aim for 6.5 and most things take up nutrients [ie grow ok].

I done a couple different areas and it seems to be ranging from 6.5-7. It is heavy clay which havnt been used for a whille untill I started on it.

          thanks

I have a very heavy clay soil, im working on it,

ive grown some veggies that have been effected my mineral probs ie my pumpkins needed a boost

got me thinking when some plants are loooking a little sorry for themselves grow more isnt enough tey need just a boost of just one or two minerals

was just looking for a list of minerals etc like potash, potasium, nitrogen, epsom salts, etc and what fruit of veg they give a boost too

Can't find anything specific to minerals but here is a good find. Just select the fruit/veg you want to know about.

Heavy clay soils tend to be more on the alkaline side but are not usually deficient in minerals. Before you start adding any minerals you should see if they are actually needed as it is easy to overdose and this can cause just as many problems as a deficiency. Get plenty of organic matter bunged on to your soil and you shouldn't need to add much else for most veggies. As Zaz pointed out, a neutral or slightly acid soil tends to suit most things.

I find that really clay soils hold enough nutrients to feed plants without anything extra - what's the pH of your soil?
