  • Radish..what should i sow?

being new to all this, just wondering if anyone has any radish they favour, i am scouring my new seed catalogues (they are sooo addictive!) but i feel i am spoilt for choice. Apparently from what i have read, most radish seem quite quick to grow? and seem to germinate quite easily...this sounds good for the impatient gardener!

As I grow in pots I like French Breakfast 3". Good flavour and lots of radish for the space allowed. From planting to harvest takes 8-10 weeks so I like to plant follow on pots about every 2 1/2 weeks with 30 plus radish per pot this emsures a good supply.

    Hope this helps Colin.

I love them as hot and pungent as possible, growing in the middle east radishes there got a bite.
Wife's like only the fresh sweet ones so I grow both.

This year I have Polish yellow Zlata for me and Saxa 3 for her, might do some black Spanish later in summer (again these got a bite).

You'll love growing these Hanna, they're so quick. I often use them amongst other veg so that you "catch crop". My grandchildren sow them in different types of containers for the fun. I like Sparkler and French Breakfast, but there are also lots of unusual ones to try. There were some free with the mag this month, but I've forgotten the variety.

I love radish 'Pink Beauty' iGrowVeg |  Radish – Variety: Pink Beauty because its colourful and very mild but still has that lovely bite. It looks great in salads.

Second favourite would be french breakfast and scarlet globe.

There's also a few here that can be sown in late in the year for winter Growing Unusual and Colourful Winter Radishes | iGrowVeg

My favourite is Sparkler. It grows perfectly spherical so looks lovely, but I also find it less prone to going woody and tastes sweeter than other varieties.
