  • Quinoa?

Im thinking about getting some Quinoa seeds. i see that you can get them in the James Wong collection. Has anybody tried growing them? And how easy is it? how much room will they take up on my allotment? Thanks!

I got the rainbow quinoa from Real Seeds as well, and am really excited about growing it!

I don't know how easy it is to get going, but it looks like the plants take up a fair bit of space- they're quite tall (~6').

I grew RS quinoa last year. It grew well but didn't make 6'. In the end though, I didn't use the seeds as, probably due to the horrible weather, it has a lot of black "mould" on the seed which made me think of ergot and associated hallucinogens. I'll be giving it another go this year.

If the rest of James Wong's range are anything to go by, I wouldn't bother. Very poor results. There was a long thread about how crap they were a while back, see if you can find that, it may make you think twice about buying his seeds.
