Default Purple sprouting broc

Hi

This is my first attempt at growing veg so any help would be great.
My PSB has now started to appear! the thing is I was expecting just little shoots but I have a big head in the middle. Have I done something wrong?? should I have picked it before now??

You will get a large head in the centre and smaller sideshoots, these will keep forming as you pick the heads.

Protect it from pigeons, or you won't get anything!

Cut out the central head, eat and enjoy. You will then get the little sideshoots.

So that's what it is!!!!!

I have five monstrous plants and I couldn't remember what they were! My previous PSB was all small shoots but these are the size of a large cauli with a purple tinge! Some haven't a tinge though and look like romanesqe?

I'll take a few piccies tomorrow and you lot can enlighten me!

Surely it's a bit late for PSB though innit?
