  • Pumpkin pollination

Things are a little behind schedule around these parts, but I've finally got some female pumpkin flowers. Unfortunately there are no males about. However, there are male squash and corgette flowers. Will pumpkins allow themselves
    to be fertilised by these?

Pumpkins are quite happy to be fertilised by any passing squash - they're really not at all picky! Handy from a pollination point of view but bad for seed saving.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Great! First I'd like to successively grow a pumpkin after some rather dubious efforts last year. Only then is seed saving going to cross my mind.

I think I may have all your males!...shame you can't swap male/female flowers through the post!
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx
