  • Pumpkin Patch Query

First time with pumpkins. Mulched the patch with manure prior to planting out end of month. Should I dig it in or leave it on the top.

Any other pumpkin related advice gratefully appreciated.

    Well rotted manure? Not fresh

It is more effective if used as a mulch on damp ground. The worms will pull it all in for you, aerating the soil as they go

I plant an upturned pop bottle, or a Morrisons bucket, next to the plant for watering into

They need lots of water - plant them in a little depression, so that when you water the liquid stays around the plant where its needed. I put a stick in next to the plant so I know where the roots are after they start to sprawl around too.
