  • Prunning chillies and Bell peper

I have 2 bell pepper plants and one patio chilli (small chillies) plant on my window sill. All three plants are growing well have started to fruit. The bell peppers have over 20 flowers and four small peppers are growing.

The chilli plant must have over 100 flowers and chillies are starting to develop on the flowers.

I'm just wondering, do I need to remove any flowers or would the plants be able to cope with all the flowers developing into fruit?

You don't need to interfere. The plant will drop any flowers it can't cope with.

The first year I grew chillies I was amazed at the number of fruit that formed but they all ripened and the crop was tremendous. For the space they take up I'd say chillies were one of the most productive plants around. And the best part is that once they get going you just leave them to it, apart from watering and feeding.
