  • The power of black plastic!

I thought you might be interested in these pictures of my black pastic blunder.

Yesterday I started planting leeks so removed the sheet of plastic that had been covering the bed since the phacelia was cut down last month. I moved it onto the grass to dry and give the birds a go at the slugs/snails on the underside.

It was on the ground for maybe 2 hours max but the temperature was mid to upper thirties yesterday and this was the result.

I thought it might have recovered overnight, but it would seem not.

I fixed that for you. I hate bindweed. My garden is now filled with pop bottle tops.

Whatever happened to that bottle garden craze? I used to see them everywhere in the 1980's, but i assume they were a hangover from the 60's? Either way... i'm bringing them back!
