Default poataoes

I know i have only put them in a couple of weeks ago but when are they ready to harvest i am currently putting the compost on top of the shoots.

Also when do i need to put potatoes in in time for Christmas - would love fresh potatoes on Christmas day. Can you reccommend any varieties?

Thanks

Sue
