  • Piquillo Peppers

Has anyone tried to grow Piquillo Peppers in a UK greenhouse?

And is it too late to try and grow them from seed this year?

    many thanks for your help

Would you be growing them outdoors or in a greenhouse?

Ive never grown them although it is very late in the season to be starting chillies or peppers. Some chillies need a very long growing season, others will fruit quite quickly, cayennes for instance. Is there any info on the pack -seed to harvest time? Where did you get the seed from?

The packet says sow Jan to May (it is grown in Spain though so they presumably have a longer growing season)
I will check again if it says when they can be harvested.

I checked and it says harvest from July to November (again based on growing in Spain)

I tried growing some here outdoors. The length of season where I am is very similar to parts of the UK (last frost mid-April, first frost mid-October), but we get very hot summers. I didn't do very well with them. If I were you, I'd not open the packet of seeds but save them till next year and sow them much earlier.
