I have recently harvested my first crop of sprouts, however after cooking there is a pinkness colour inside and the taste is very mild. Any ideas please.

Unfortunatly I dont have the variety, they were bought as plants from the local garden centre.
Although I wondered if there is a link using old coffee granuals around the base of each plant. It keeps the slugs away and the smell seems to put off the cabbage whites. Could the colour gotten into the plant?Comment

Did you pressure cook them?
I have vague childhood recollections of pinky insides to some pressure cooked ones...(maybe slightly overcooked????)

They were cooked in a steamer, same as if bought from the supermarket.
