  • Pickling Onions

I sowed some pickling onions the other day on the surface of moist compost and covered with cloche... The packet doesnt say to cover the seeds but I am sure that I usually do... What do others think?

I planted mine straight in the garden in early March. Then covered them with soil about 5mm thick. They are now about 40mm long green shoots.

I best pick up some compost today and give them a light sprinkling then... Hopefully being on the surface they wont have dried out too much and will germinate now...
