I'm just a tad envious of all the talk of picking your first........tomato/cucumber/strawberry etc. So come on.........make me really jealous and tell us when you pick your first of the year anythings

Well, here we go VC ... yesterday was the first outdoor courgette and during last week around 26 June was my very first ever picking of broccolI, but I'm sure others have some earlier dates -
Just yesterday - first new potatoes (charlotte), first broad bean pods, first lettuce (fringe headed drunken woman) - and a few radish, but those weren't the first.

You'll have to do better than that!
And I've done Hazel's broadbean pods and lettuce (another Drunken Woman of course!!)
BUT jayjaybee's courgette and broccoli are turning me green

in the last week have had the first Broad beans, mangetout, broccoli, strawberries, sweet peas. oh and raspberries (only 4 but it's a start! )

We have already had potatoes, peas, mange tout, radishes, lettuce (all year round, cos, attractie and mixed salad leaves).
My mum upset me though by texting me that she had picked her first ripe tomato yesterday - made me VERY jealous!!Likac66

First strawbs and redcurrants last week and first rasp today.
Awaiting impatiently for the gooseberries to turn red. Starting to go pink...I reckon another week and ill be making gooseberry jelly again.
