  • Peppers question

We haven't grown these before and I think I read somewhere that they should be pinched out as the peppers grow on the branches? Is this so,please? If I need to pinch them, how big should they grow first?

They are (Sweet) California Wonder .

    Thank you for your help.

I haven't pinched mine out, they have branched naturally and I have peppers forming fine. I am growing canape and orange bell on the kitchen windowsill. The biggest pepper on canape is around 1.5", and I have 2 around 1" on the orange bell, as well as smaller ones as well.

Thank you BarleySugar. What size pot are they in?

As they are just on the window sill (SW facing), at the moment they are in 6" pots. I have usually put them in 10-12" ones in the greenhouse, but last year I didn't get any peppers at all off of 4 plants, so this year they have stayed inside.
I am having to hand pollinate, and being is such small pots, they might start to flag early, but I'm willing to force them a bit in the hopes of getting something edible before the frosts come again

There is no need to pinch out peppers. In fact, it delays the fruiting of peppers. I accidentally broke the growing tip of one of my peppers and it reduced the number of ripe peppers that I harvested at the end of the season.

Thank you for your help. I won't pinch them then! They look very little compared with yours, BarleySugar.
