  • Peppers - how much to water

    Hello

As mentioned in a thread a week or so ago, this is my first season growing veggies and my pepper plants (Romano mixed) have started to droop. We went away for a few days during which time we had really heavy rain, so when we got back I put them back in the greenhouse and they perked up a bit after...however they are now looking sorry for themselves again.

I have a few other smaller back-up plants which are a bit smaller and which I might now re-pot into bigger 25-30 pots. Is there a rule of thumb though about how much pepper plants should be watered (how often, how much etc) so that I can try to get it right?

    Thanks

    Adam

All my peppers are sat in water trays so they water themselves I just spray the leaves when it gets hot as they live in my polytunnel.
When you have a hammer in your hand everything around you starts looking like a nail.

Mine get the same treatment as the tomatoes.

Thanks Thelma - so you mean you give them quite a decent size drink every day?

I give mine a slurp of water every day, some days more than others according to weather
Once a week they get a liquid feed in the water.

Are you keeping them in the Green house?

Yes, I am. Do you keep yours outside?

No, all peppers and chillies are pampered here. In the house until nightime temps are 10 and above and then moved to the greenhouse. I think peppers are more troublesome than chillies.
