Default Pepper plants

Hi all!

Some advice needed please. A friend has grown from seed, some bell pepper plants. She brought them into my work place and they are on the windowsill in full sun (when it's sunny). The tallest plant is about 16 inches high and the other is slightly smaller. Both are healthy and producing flowers, which are starting to form very tiny peppers. Thing is, should we put them out into our allottment, or leave them where they are and just re-pot them when they get too big for their pots? Our allottment is very sunny, so they would probably do well there, but we haven't got a car, so would have to transport the plants by our only means of transport....a scooter! Would this stress the plants too much and are we better just leaving them on the windowsill?

Thanks.

I would leave them where they are. They do well in pots as long as you keep them fed and watered

I agree with Dr Bill. I would leave them on the windowsill as they will do well there. Pepper plants don't need great big pots.9" is plenty, but even if the pots are smaller they will be ok as long as you water and feed regularly.

Thanks for your replies!

Just going to give them some tomato feed and pot them into slightly bigger pots.

Good luck GG! Ive kept mine in the greenhouse, keeping them watered regularly and fed once a week - and they are plumping up nicely, as are my chillis! dexterdog

Ah Nick! I've put mine in 7" pots as well and they are doing very well. Same for my chilli plants. Maybe I'm learning something! dexterdog
