  • Pea experiment

I had quite a good crop of peas this year but was disappointed how quickly they came and went. Anyway, I planted some more peas in modules last week and they have come up very quickly. I go on holiday tomorrow for 2 weeks so have cleared the old pea plants and raked in some calcified seaweed. I am going to plant the pea seedlings this afternoon (if it stops raining for long enough!) and leave them to it while we go away. I know it's late for sowing peas but I figure if we have a mild September I might get away with it and get a late crop.

Just make sure you net them to keep the birds off.

      Yes, they do.
Peas need to be planted continuously throughout the season. Always have another tray waiting in the wings to go out.

Same with carrots: as you pull one, pop some more seed into the hole
