  • Patty Pan - how much to charge

    Hi,

    I've grown a bit of a glut of Patty Pan squash and a kindly farm shop owner said he would try and sell them there. He already sells some of my chillies though they aren't huge sellers -- philistines!

    I've absolutely no idea how much he should charge for one of these - I'll get half.

    Could anyone make a suggestion. I've never ever seen them for sale before. They are all 6 - 8 inches wide.

    I always feel a bit mean as shop prices and glut prices differ so much. If I was buying I would pay 50p each or 3 for £1. I hope I haven't insulted you

          Thanks - I think about 50p each (25p for me) is about right. Who knows I might even make a whole pound out of this ...

              We just had one for our dinner and I have to say it was delicious - so I think there'll be no selling this year

              If anyone is interested we had - all from the garden...

              1 patty pan sliced
              2 red onions roughly chopped
              1 large carrot sliced
              2 peppers roughly chopped
              2 cayene's sliced

              All thrown in a roasting basin with some salt, pepper, rosemary and thyme for about 25 minutes (using a little drizzle of rapeseed oil). We usually throw a few cloves of elephant garlic in that as well but they aren't quite ready yet this year.

              I'd really recommend it.
