For the last 10 years, my parsnips have taken between 6 weeks and 4 months to germinate in a raised bed. This year I sowed 2 x fifteen foot rows in a raised bed 3 weeks ago and have 80% germination. I've done nothing different to what I did in previous years, but there they are.http://norm-foodforthought.blogspot.com/

The "will they, wont they?" of parsnip germination is on again! I was getting desperate, but after (only, but it felt like months) 3 weeks the parsnips sown in the raised beds have appeared and now tiny, tiny tendrils are beginning to appear on the ones on damp paper in the airing cupboard! Happy days.Granny on the Game in Sheffield
