  • Parsnips taking the mick

So whilst I wait for my Parsnips to hopefully germinate in one bed i was weeding the others.

In my bean bed there was a weed the other day whch looked a bit different.I pulled it but the "root" snapped, today it came back so I thought I'd dig it up.

Well the pic says it all,its a PARSNIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Its grown from a piece of parsnip from my bean trench

There are dozens of parsnip tops in the trench

Meantime my parsnip bed is empty

Parsnip roots will try to regrow and flower to produce seed...they are a biennial.

What is more upsetting to me is that while I am carefully sowing away; there are loads of self seeded ones over my onion bed ...strays from my seed plants last year that I am having to hoe off.
