  • Parsley seedlings

Bizzarely I have never tried growing parsley before but got some seeds free with some kitchen paper!! I now have 3 small pots on the kitchen window sill with about 5 seedlings in each. Can these go out into the garden now? Do they need to go into cold greenhouse or can they now be exposed to the elements?

    How big are they?

Mine are very thin and weedy still - the wind will just batter them outside. I am going to pot them on tomorrow into individual modules, to grow on a bit in the cold greenhouse.

Thin and weedy would describe them perfectly!! Will they be OK if I seperate them and plant into larger pots? I was just going to take the whole lot out of the pot and put into the ground...

Parsley is v hardy. I have a huge quantity on my patio that has overwintered (and thrived) in windowbox-type containers. I also have a lot just getting started in a bucket (sowed in the autumn but mostly it waited until spring to germinate). I don't bother sowing in modules / planting out individually, just sprinkle the seeds finely over the growing area. It's good stuff!
