  • Onions falling over

Many of my onion sets, sown in April, are falling over. The stems seem too heavy and have either pulled up the actual onion sets also or at the very least the stems are bent.

Should I straighten the sets up again and firm them in? Why would this have happened?

    Thanks in advance.

Can you pull one out and see if there is any white fluffy stuff on the base near the roots?

My onion leaves bent over last year. As they were still green I gnored them until they wet yellow and had a good crop.

I tried jogging, but I couldn't keep the ice in my glass.
