  • Onion Sets now?

I've got a bit of space on the plot - have seen some red baron sets going cheap - I realise they won't bulk up but is it worth getting some to chuck in now 2 - 3 months late? Will they just bolt in the heat or is it worth a go for some little-ish onions?

    Whaddya think?

I popped 100 sets into a 1 foot square a week or so ago to grow as scallions. All of them have started to sprout so I'll harvest them as I need spring onions - once the last lot have been eaten.

I'll hold fire then - in the meantime I'll shove some lettuce in. Thanks all.
