Onion set query

    Onion set query

    well, I have my second earlies chitting on the window ledge and my mains in the bottom drawer of my fridge, as advised!

    But how do I store my onion sets until I want them? (Errr, and that would be Feb onwards, perhaps March on the west coast of scotland?)

    I do believe somewhere light and dry.

      Spread mine out in some seed trays on a shelf where they are dry and get light but not direct sunlight. Don't leave them in plastic bags.

          I store mine in the garage and they're fine although suppose it depends on the garage!

          Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

          Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                  You could always plant them into modules until you're ready to plant them out.

                    In the past I've always left it until April to plant em out but this year mine will be going into a seedtray of compost in the greenhouse for an early start as a trial.
