I had some plants with yellow tips, a friend diagnosed them with magnesium deficiency caused by poor soil PH (caused by terrible brand name soil grr), and we gave them a light spray with epsom salts solution (one tsp to a gallon). and adjusted the soil PH. This seemed to do the trick! There are probably a few things it could be, this was just my experience with some particular plants.Gayle

I did wonder if magnesium deficiency could be an issue, as I have sprayed cukes before with Epsom salts. Never heard of it in onions though. My shallots are also yellowing but this is pretty normal for them at this time I think.Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein
