  • onion droop again!!

    hi, just wondering if i can do anything to help keep my onion leaves from drooping over as they do when really wet(as this weeks rain proved)..last year they all broke and turned yellow a long time before due as it was a really wet july, someone has said tie them half way up the stem like a bunch of flowers but is this a good idea??? any help much appreciated...thank you

      Sorry about this, Afrench108, but I had to check this thread out because the title reminded me of a line you might hear on a Carry On film.

      I'm not sure of the answer to your question, but the 'bunch of flowers' idea, tied loosely, sounds like a good one. It helped my potato stalks when they got knocked about in the wind - they potatoes are in a bin though, so it was easy enough to do the tying thing.
